RADIO ROMANIA NEWS – The Capital's General Council approved a feasibility study recommending the purchase of 250 modern trams, necessary to improve public passenger transport. The necessary amount is estimated at approximately 850 million euros, and the general mayor, Nicusor Dan, declares himself optimistic about finding sources of financing, which can come either from the NRRP or from other European structural funds. The mayor-in-chief of Bucharest drew attention to the fact that, currently, almost 350 trams in circulation have exceeded their normal operating time. Also, says Nicusor Dan, on heavily trafficked lines, such as 41 or 25, the trams are overcrowded, as they are insufficient.
