RADIO ROMANIA NEWS (October 25, 13:04:06) - Reporter: Amalia Bojescu
Host: This was the fourth day of discussions and meetings in support of a National Liberal Party (PNL) - Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR) minority government and according to the appointed prime minister, Nicolae Ciuca, the governing program would have been completed. However, he did not give details and the document has not yet been made public, but it was brought up as an argument, at the meeting between the appointed prime minister and USR representatives, who, so far, said they would not support a minority government.
Reporter: Hello! Save Romania Union (USR) has not changed its position, that it will not support a minority government and wants to rebuild the governing coalition. This is the statement made by the appointed prime minister, Nicolae Ciuca, after the meeting with the USR president, Dacian Ciolos. Before this meeting, however, Nicolae Ciuca hoped for a constructive dialogue with those from USR, in order to find solutions to get out of the crisis. The Prime Minister-designate once again called for the responsibility of political forces.
Nicolae Ciuca: I believe that all political leaders have the necessary maturity and the power to understand the fact that we are going through a particularly difficult situation and that we need a government with full powers. I still have hopes that a government can be invested in this mandate. When I consider that these chances are no more, I will proceed as such.
Reporter: Nicolae Ciuca also specified that he will have to ask for a mandate from the PNL leadership to discuss the restoration of the right-wing coalition and a possible return of the USR to power. He added that he would look for any solution to have a government with full powers as soon as possible. Nicolae Ciuca has 10 days to come before the Parliament with a government program and a team of ministers.
