The foreign ministers of Romania and the Czech Republic discussed, in Bucharest, the security situation created in the context of the war launched by Russia against Ukraine.
Luminita Odobescu informed Jan Lipavsky about the measures taken by Romania, including the facilitation of grain transit from Ukraine and the support given to refugees.
Luminita Odobescu also referred to the latest attack by Russia on Ukraine, near the border with Romania.
Luminita Odobescu: Together we condemned the significant deterioration of the security situation in the Black Sea and the risk of escalation, as a result of Russian aggression against Ukraine, including last night's brutal attacks near the border with Romania. The quick reaction of NATO and the allies, at the request of Romania, to the recent incidents with drones that affected the territory of Romania as well, was exemplary and demonstrates, once again, NATO's ability to ensure the defense of every centimeter of allied territory.
For his part, the foreign minister of the Czech Republic conveyed his country's support for Romania's accession to the Schengen area.
