In Fagaras Mountains at over 2000 meters altitude, the first snow fell this fall.
A quite consistent one, because Friday at 9:00, at Balea Lake, the snow layer already measured 31 inches, and continued to snow.

Also the temperatures considerably fell, during the morning being registered minus 3 degrees Celsius at the weather station from Balea Lac.

According to meteorologists from the Regional Meteorological Center South Transylvania from Sibiu, in mountain area of high altitude are expect precipitation as snow to continue to fall also during Friday, but in smaller quantities.

Workers from the National Roads Sibiu took out the snow machines since the first hour on Transfăgărăşan.

The head of the National Roads Department Sibiu, Liviu Cretu, on those few kilometers of serpentines near Balea Lake, where the snow fell, two machines operate, one with blade and another that spreads sand and salt.
