Senators and deputies will return to the legislature on Wednesday, February 1, in the first parliamentary session of the year.
Many bills in key areas are waiting to be debated and receive a final vote.
A legislative package that senators and deputies will debate this parliamentary session concerns education laws.
According to the calendar established in February, they should pass the Government and then, in March, reach the Parliament to be adopted.
However, the PSD senator Vasile Dincu recently said that he asked the social-democratic leader Marcel Ciolacu to request in the coalition the extension of the deadline for the presentation of the education laws for more consultations, while the PNL spokesperson, Ionut Stroe, explained that this timetable for the adoption of education laws was agreed upon in the coalition and will be respected.
Another draft law that is already waiting for Parliament to be debated and voted on is the one on service pensions for several categories of beneficiaries, including magistrates, auxiliary staff from the courts and soldiers.
In parallel, the liberals and social democrats are making plans for the moment of the rotation agreed at the level of the governing coalition, that is, the rotation of prime ministers and the exchange of some ministries between the two parties.
According to a protocol from the PSD-PNL-UDMR coalition, this rotation should take place at the end of May.
Also, in the perspective of the 2024 election year, a draft law awaiting the vote of parliamentarians is the one according to which women will represent a third of the candidates in the local and parliamentary elections.
