The First Lady of the United States, Jill Biden, will travel to Romania and Slovakia this week to show her support for Ukrainian families forced to flee the war, according to a statement from her office. She will meet with US military and embassy staff, Ukrainian refugee parents and children, humanitarian assistants and teachers.
The First Lady will leave Washington for Romania on Thursday and will stop first at Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base. On Friday, she will meet with members of the US military, after which she will go to Bucharest to meet with Romanian government officials, embassy staff, humanitarian assistants and teachers working with Ukrainian refugee children.
Jill Biden will then visit Slovakia, where she will, again, meet with government officials and Ukrainian refugees.
