The electoral campaign for parliamentary elections officially starts at midnight.
Parties, alliances or independents vying for a seat in the next legislature have 30 days to convince voters.
According to data from the Central Electoral Bureau, 31 political parties have filed candidacies for the 330 seats for deputies and 136 for senators.
The Permanent Electoral Authority on Thursday clarified how to vote in the December 1 elections.
In parliamentary elections, you can vote at the polling station where the voter is registered on the permanent lists.
You can vote on supplementary lists at any polling station outside the locality where the voter is domiciled or resides, but only within the same county that represents an electoral district.
In the capital, the vote cannot be cast in another precinct.
The address of the voter's polling station can be found on the website of the Permanent Electoral Authority.
Romanian citizens domiciled or residing abroad can vote either by correspondence, if they have chosen that option, or at the polling stations organized outside the country's borders - says the president of the Permanent Electoral Authority, Toni Grebla.
950 polling stations have been set up so that Romanians outside Romania can exercise their right to vote. For abroad, the voting period is longer, i.e. on Saturday and Sunday, from 7:00 until 21:00, with the same possibility as on Sunday - I repeat, only on Sunday - if there are still citizens within the polling station, they will be able to exercise their right to vote until 23:59 local time.
In the country, voting for the election of the new legislature will begin on Sunday, December 1, at 7:00 a.m. and end at 9:00 p.m.; if there are voters in line or on the premises when the polls close, the president of the polling station may order the voting to be extended until 11:59 p.m., when the system will automatically close.
