The Minister of Education, Monica Anisie, states that she cannot currently say whether the schools will start in an online-only format from September 14, as Prime Minister Ludovic Orban evoked yesterday. Mrs. Anisie specified that the procedures, following which the schools themselves will decide the form in which they will resume the courses, will start on Monday.

Monica Anisie, in a statement made to B1 TV:

Monica Anisie: On Monday, September 7, the public health departments will analyze the epidemiological situation, send it to the educational units and depending on the this situation, but also on the specifics of each school, the boards of each institute will make a proposal to the School Inspectorate and then, to the committe for Emergency Situations of their county or of the Bucharest Municipality, resulting in a decision being taken regarding the start of school.

Where the epidemiological situation is serious, we can start online.

Host: Only 80% of Romanian schools are ready for opening, the Minister of Education added.

The dignitary mentioned the provision of materials for combating COVID-19.

Monica Anisie specified that these materials must be made available to schools by local authorities.
