RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - The budget project for 2023 entered the parliamentary debate on Monday and has already passed a first stage of the procedures preceding the plenary vote.
RRA correspondent Amalia Bojescu follows the progress in the legislature and reports: "Discussions in the specialized commissions took place at a brisk pace, all the budgets allocated to the ministries being favorably approved with amendments. These were not debated, and will be analyzed on the merits at the assembled commissions of budget-finance. The Ministry of Education received an increasing budget compared to last year which will be directed towards investments and ensuring a fair education - said the relevant minister, Ligia Deca.
Ligia Deca: "We want, first of all, to make sure that all children have the necessary means to get to school. We want all the reforms in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan to take place on time, in such a way that we have the progress expected, and we also wish that the coming winter months will not influence the way in which the didactic process is carried out in schools."
USR has criticized the budget allocation and continues to argue that education should benefit from 6% of GDP. The parliamentarians of the formation prepared several amendments aimed at all credit orderers, respectively 500. AUR also prepared over four thousand amendments. Deputy Antonio Andrusceac says that the budget for next year does not aim at reconstruction and development, being directed towards consumption.
Antonio Andrusceac: "Not that it would be bad for GDP to grow through consumption, that it would be an indicator which would probably show well-being, but it is a consumption indicator based not on economic development and investments in Romania's economy."
On Monday and Tuesday, there will be debates on the merits in the assembled budget-finance committees, and from Wednesday the document enters the debate of the assembled plenary.
