The Craiova-Pitesti Express Road will be opened ahead of schedule

Lot 2 of the Craiova-Pitesti Express Road has reached 87 percent completion and will be open to traffic by the end of this year, before the contractual term in 2022, announced yesterday Horatiu Cosma, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Transport , who paid a visit to the worksite.
On lot 2, with a length of 40 kilometers, between Bals and Slatina, a Romanian construction team is working.
The mobilization is exemplary, with 1700 workers and hundreds of machines.
The structural differences between an expressway and a highway are not big: for the expressway, the traffic lane is 25 centimeters narrower and there is no classic emergency lane, but only a 2-meter space.
