The cost of a Real Time PCR test for coronavirus detection decreased compared to last year, when it reached 520 lei.
An analysis of the Competition Council shows that currently, depending on the medical clinic where it is performed, the price of a test varies between 270 lei and 390 lei, which leads to an average of 322 lei for a Real Time PCR test.
As for rapid antigen tests, they can be purchased online for self-testing or can be performed in a medical clinic.
A quick test with saliva collection costs online between 30 and 59 lei, and one with nasopharyngeal exudate collection, between 26 lei and 37 lei.
Tests can also be made to detect COVID-19 antibodies, which can be done in clinics or at home with kits purchased online, Rador notes.
