The archeological works around the Black Church from Brasov, which are running for over 2 years, reached the end.
A last discovery extremely valuable was made a little time before closing the site.
It is the walls of a former chapel of the Black Church, dating most probably since 14th century.
So far, the old chapel was attested only in documents, but there was no physical proof of its existence.
Over 1400 graves dating both Middle Ages, possibly 16th century, and the modern age were revealed during digging.
Also, finery and pieces of jars, holes for supplies and two funeral stones dating since the beginning of 18th century were discovered, one of them being preserved into a very well state of conservation.
After these new findings, the documentary attestation date of Brasov could be established with a half of century earlier than 1235.
All discoveries could be seen in the Black Church museum, after all the pieces discovered will be investigated and the Black Church yard will be refurbished.
