The Black Sea is clean, the Romanian authorities say, ” it’s actually cleaner than ever” .
The water quality is monitored daily, and the presence of algae in the water is an indication that the Black Sea hasn’t been polluted.
The seawater’s cleanness is explained by the reduction of agricultural activities alongside the rivers that flow into the Danube or directly into the sea.
Due to the smaller quantity of nitrates the seawater quality has become considerably better.
Specialists say that the Black Sea is in a reviving process of convalescence.
This is evident by the presence of algae in the seawater.
It is verry true that these algae are a source of discomfort for the tourists who visit the beach, but we must bear in mind that it’s a good thing that the number and quantity of algae are getting bigger in the Black Sea.
There have been many dead dolphins found ashore on the Romanian seaside.
The dolphins were washed ashore not because they had been poisoned by the nitrates in the water, but because they got ensnarled in the illegal nets of sea poachers.
More often than not, they abandon their fishnets in the Black Sea, and the dolphins get caught in them. Once the corpses get lose, they are washed up on the seaside.
The tourists who visit the seaside have to be aware that the water’s quality is very good thanks to Dobrogea Litoral who is monitoring the cleanness of the Black Sea and notifies the tourists about the of seawater’s quality.
