On Monday, start the children assignments in the preparatory and first class.
On the first day, the minister application for the pupils’ assignment cannot be accessed for a few hours.
The Education ministry, Cătălin Baba, apologized for the incident and announced that the situation will be investigated.
The ministry also explained that it was all about the no functionality of the server that was centralizing the applications for assignment after two power outages.
The school programs and the framework plan for the first classes of the primary education were launched in public debating on the internet website of the minister.
Parents can submit applications for assignments only to the school district, until March the 16th, and on March the 19th will be published the lists with the children assigned in the first phase, but also with the free spots.
Those who want to educate their children in a school that belongs to another district can do it in the following phases of assignment provided in the calendar elaborated by the Education ministry.
The assignment has to be made only to a single school unit and the registration system of children is computerized.
To assign their children, parents have to submit copies of the identity card and of the birth certificate of their child.
For assignment in another school than the one from their district, have priority the children who have a handicap, or the ones who are orphans, or the ones whose parents work in Education system, or the ones who have a brother/sister in that school.
The Education ministry, Cătălin Baba, drew attention on the fact that at the assignment, parents don’t have to offer “attentions” and, also, it is forbidden that someone asks them any kind of stationery items.
The ministry’s injunction, contested within Court
The preparatory class has produced though deep dissatisfactions to parents, but not only to them.
Many parents have sued, in four files, the government and the Education minister, contesting the injunction of assign in the preparatory and respectively first class.
Last week, though, the magistrates of the Court Appeal Bucharest decided that the assignments in the zero class are legal, so the injunction is still effective.
On Thursday it is expected also the decision regarding the last file remained within Court.
Parents and the unions sustain that schools are not prepared for the passing from the preparatory school to primary education, that that there is neither necessary infrastructure, nor the qualified personnel.
The minister Cătălin Baba assured though that there are necessary funds for equipping the schools and for the training of the personnel.
“I assure all parents and the teachers in Romania that the Education ministry has the necessary funds for all the acquisitions that needs a good start of the preparatory class”, specified Cătălin Baba.
