The approximately 2.000 employees of the Hunedoara Energy Complex, which entered insolvency in 2019, for debts totaling one and a half billion euros, will be taken over by the new Valea Jiului Energy Complex, which will be established in the immediate period, by the Ministry of Energy.
According to Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, who met a short time ago, in Deva, with the president of the Muntele Union, Darius Campean, to discuss the perspectives of the Hunedoara Energy Complex, the Ministry of Energy will allocate over 115 million lei for the establishment of the new entity, consisting of four mining operations, the Paroseni thermal power plant and a service provision unit. Another 300 million lei will be allocated to the budget rectification.
Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu assured that all the approximately 2.000 employees of the Hunedoara Energy Complex will be taken over by the new company, and that salaries will be paid on time.
During the discussions in Deva, approximately 30 members and sympathizers of AUR picketed the County Council headquarters and chanted anti-government slogans.
