The actor wrote poetry, he was a teacher, but he did also politics. He was senator of Ilfov, between 1992-1996, for the Democratic Convention.

The actor Ştefan Radof died Wednesday morning, at the Floreasca Emergency Hospital in the capital.
The hospital spokesman, the doctor Bogdan Opriţa, says that the actor, who was 77 years old, was hospitalized since Tuesday evening, at the Intensive Care unit, due to several chronic sufferings.
The actor was born on December 1, 1934, Buftea, Ilfov County.
Ştefan Radof began his career at the Piatra Neamţ theatre, where, at the urging of the drama and film director Cornel Todea, with whom he had worked also on television, he presented at the contest organized by the Nottara Theatre, led at that time by Horia Lovinescu.
His career has been punctuated by many awards: ATM and Critics Award (1980, 1982, 1984, 1986), winner of the Festival film from "Lucarno" for his role in the film "Too small for a war so big ", winner of theatre festivals in Nancy (France, 1969), Arhus (Denmark, 1970), Guanahato (Mexico, 1978), Plovdiv (Bulgaria) (1999). The actor retired in 1996.
Ştefan Radof was the actor at the Nottara Theatre since 1965 and among the shows he played here are "Petru Rareş", "Hamlet" or "The Orchard with sour cherry trees" .

On December 6 2004, at a ceremony, at the Cotroceni Palace, the Romanian President Ion Iliescu awarded the master Ştefan Radof with “The National Order Romania Star”, the degree of Knight, as a token of appreciation for the long and fruitful artistic activity, “for the dedication and talent put into the service of performing art and Romanian theatre”.
