RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - The absorption degree of European funds for the financial year 2014-2020 recorded by Romania is, at the moment, about 65%, declared today, in Tulcea, the Minister of Investments and European Projects, Marcel Bolos.
He expressed regret that European funds have not yet resulted in better road and utility infrastructure at national level.
Instead, Romania faces the risk of losing billions of euros.
Marcel Bolos: "We have 9.2 billion euros in risk of forfeiture, compared to 12 billion euros when taking over the mandate. We have taken these steps in order to reduce this risk. My regret, as minister of investments and European projects, is that instead of seeing this money being used on transport infrastructure projects or water-sewer infrastructure projects, we are now in this situation where we have to find alternatives to avoid losing money."
According to the RRA correspondent, Luiza Rosetti, the Minister of Investments and European Projects signed today in Tulcea a financing contract of around 250 million euros for the development of the county water supply infrastructure.
