Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca assured that by mid-December the budget for next year will be approved in Parliament, reports Agerpres.
"I know that there is a discussion about the fact that we committed to have a budget project as soon as possible, until the end of October. We did not succeed in this because it is the first time in Romania that budgeting is carried out by programs. Either way, each ministry must do it in such a way as to ensure the design of the budget, the draft budget, as well as the uploading of data to the programs and we did not manage to complete it, but I can assure you that by mid-December, as I have discussed the calendar, we will have the budget approved in the Parliament", declared Nicolae Ciuca.
At the same time, the prime minister stated that the values regarding the increase in pensions and the minimum wage are to be decided depending on the final data that will be found in the budget draft.
"At the moment, of course, there is this commitment that pensions will be increased within the limits of inflation, so as inflation has increased, we can cover this loss in the budget of each family. Also, we can identify all the other measures that we can take for vulnerable citizens. Please trust that, just as we have not let them suffer until now, we will not let them suffer next year either. As such, the measures that we have adopted, the 50 euro every two months, they will continue next year, and of course we will find other solutions to be able to support them", Nicolae Ciuca also declared.
Regarding the percentage of increase in pensions in accordance with the inflation rate, the prime minister said that, until this moment, the inflation rate in Romania is "around 15%...over 15%".
