In recent years have left Romania about 10,000 doctors working abroad, given that in our country their number is anyway small namely half the European average.
Last year about this time, President College of Physicians, Vasile Astărăstoaiei said that the rate at which we reach the situation of leaving doctors from hospitals equipped with everything we need, but which operates as a museum.
One of the most modern anesthesia and intensive care wards in Romania is the Emergency County Hospital in Timișoara faces an acute lack of personnel.
Section which was completely renovated and equipped with latest medical equipment and facilities at European standards works at damage limit.
"We have a deficit at all levels, especially nurses, hospital nurses and maids. At least 25% is deficit and that creates us a big problem. People working under strain, stress, especially in this system if something goes wrong always is blamed the scapegoat "said Head of the Intensive and Cure Unit(ICU) , the doctor Dorel Săndel.
One of the reasons for staff shortages facing the hospital is going to work abroad where doctors and nurses are paid much better than in Romania. Vacancies were blocked and they could not be filled in .
"However, at the forefront, as section called ER they face the most serious cases, we need experienced people because the struggle between life and death is on the edge," says Dan Ilincario, the nurse.
"We encounter all very severe cases from newborns to elderly patients, surgical cases, multiple accidental trauma, the experience is very important. We have unfortunately medical personnel formed in our clinic and who choose to work abroad , to my knowledge all our colleagues who have gone abroad had been successful here with experience gained here, " also said Dan Ilincario.
In total at the hospital in Timisoara would need 200 people. The good news is that the Health Ministry announced that the health posts will be unlocked.
The hospital manager , George Nodiţi says however that the unit is not financially ready to make new employment.
"This is a problem because of the budget is about the same and this means that we if made a percentage up to 70% for expenditure on salaries when that will unlock items and will have to do jobs and will have to skip this percent “, says the hospital manager.
"There may also be possible that by the end of the semester four to be a supplement to the budget then we can afford to make hiring because you know very well we have a shortage of staff extraordinarily high 18 doctors, 96 nurses, 60 nursing and personal for care and cleaning and if modernize such a division should also have a staff to maintain, "added George Nodiţi.
