In Sibiu starts on Friday the Nineteenth International Theatre Festival, the third in size and importance in the world after those of Edinburgh and Avignon.

This year's International Theatre Festival in Sibiu is called "Crisis. Culture makes a difference".

The festival engages in, for the first day is scheduled not less than 27 cultural events.

Theatre host National Sibiu, opens the marathon of performances "Temptation Cioran" directed by Gavriil Pinte, a traveling show that is played in the tram that links Sibiu and Răşinari.

In the afternoon, the Small Square of Sibiu and pedestrian boulevard will become historic scenes for the street shows sustained by musicians from the U.S., France, Italy and Germany.

From 19:00, Warsaw Theatre will present "Between us all is well" directed by Grzegorz Jarzyna, and from 21:00, the House of Culture will play "A storm" performance staged by director Silviu Purcarete at the National Theatre of Craiova.

At the Thalia Hall will resound to the rhythm of a flamenco band from Spain, and from 21 o'clock in the Big Square of Sibiu, Ştefan Bănică Jr. will have a concert where the audience can experience a grand show of acrobatics and fire entitled "Stockholm syndrome" of a company from Sweden.
