Ten days of theatre in Sibiu
Over 2500 artists from 70 countries will make a huge scene from Sibiu, which will take place around 350 cultural events: from the large theatre spectacles to street performances and theatre dance.

In Sibiu starts on Friday the Nineteenth International Theatre Festival, the third in size and importance in the world after those of Edinburgh and Avignon.
For 10 days, over 2500 artists from 70 countries will make a huge scene from Sibiu, which will take place almost 350 cultural events: from the large theatre spectacles and street performances, to theater performances, dance, acrobatics, pantomime, concerts, light shows, exhibitions or conferences.
This year's International Theatre Festival in Sibiu is called "Crisis. Culture makes a difference".
The festival engages in, for the first day is scheduled not less than 27 cultural events.
Theatre host National Sibiu, opens the marathon of performances "Temptation Cioran" directed by Gavriil Pinte, a traveling show that is played in the tram that links Sibiu and Răşinari.
In the afternoon, the Small Square of Sibiu and pedestrian boulevard will become historic scenes for the street shows sustained by musicians from the U.S., France, Italy and Germany.
From 19:00, Warsaw Theatre will present "Between us all is well" directed by Grzegorz Jarzyna, and from 21:00, the House of Culture will play "A storm" performance staged by director Silviu Purcarete at the National Theatre of Craiova.
At the Thalia Hall will resound to the rhythm of a flamenco band from Spain, and from 21 o'clock in the Big Square of Sibiu, Ştefan Bănică Jr. will have a concert where the audience can experience a grand show of acrobatics and fire entitled "Stockholm syndrome" of a company from Sweden.
The first day of festival will end before midnight with a fireworks show in the center of Sibiu.
As every year, the International Theatre Festival in Sibiu brings performances in spaces more or less conventional.
They will play in the tram linking Răşinari with Sibiu, in the medieval city markets, at the fortified city of Cisnădioara, in museums, parks, concerts will be held in the Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral, at Ursulinelor Church or in the synagogue from Sibiu, and the city center will be daily inspired by street performances.
For the first time will be organized also a section on film, in which there will be four screenings: the movie "Somewhere in Palilula" directed by Silviu Purcarete, "Akropolis" directed by Jerzy Grotowski, "The thoughts and images" - a documentary by Liviu Ciulei and "Goldfish games" directed by Jan Lauwers.
For music lovers, at this free festival will perform: Ştefan Bănică Jr., Voltage, Horia Brenciu and Smiley.
