The leaders of PSD, PNL, USR, UDMR and national minorities could meet this week to start talks on the formation of the new government.
In the meantime, the parties are holding internal meetings and setting mandates for their negotiating teams.
PSD is entering the negotiations with a clear mandate, namely that the new government will be formed around the Social Democrats and will continue the projects started by the current executive.
PSD will put several conditions on the table, including maintaining the pace of investment, increasing purchasing power, supporting the Romanian private sector and state reform.
In addition, PSD believes it is entitled to name the next prime minister, given that it won the most seats in the new legislature, with the party's president likely to fill the post.
The current partners in government, PNL, say they understand the electorate's need for change and want negotiations to start from a clear program of reforms for the benefit of citizens.
USR representatives want a government to be formed as soon as possible, which they say will also benefit the economy.
UDMR has a similar point of view, wanting to be part of a pro-European coalition and calling for solidarity for a common vision for Romania.
Negotiations between PSD, PNL, UDMR, USR and national minorities to form a new government come after these parties signed a resolution for a pro-European majority in parliament.
They pledge to reform and support the country's development and reject any collaboration with political parties from the sovereignist bloc.
