Justice is and must remain a service of public interest and a pillar of the rule of law, says Justice Minister Tudorel Toader in a message today on Justice Day.

As the dignitary writes on Facebook, the way justice is done influences the development of the human personality, the respect of fundamental rights and freedoms.

General Prosecutor Augustin Lazăr reminded, on the same occasion, that since the previous celebration, the judiciary has faced many challenges, attacks or legislative changes of detrimental nature to the normal functioning of Justice.

He urged prosecutors to remain united, in order to meet the expectations society has from them.

Justice Day was established in 2004 by the Romanian Government to mark each year the role and importance of the judiciary in strengthening the rule of law.
