The interim President of the National Authority for Health and food Safety(ANSVA), Vladimir Mănăstireanu, says that health authorities are making inquiries about the minced meat withdrawn from the market, for the suspicion of tax evasion; the checks also aim at how it was labeled.
"If it is confirmed that meat processing unit has made tax evasion, we will announce the appropriate authorities and we take new measures imposed by the law of animal health. If it turns out, also during the investigation , that our colleagues have the wrong or the wrong samples have been taken, we will also take measures and we will not cover anyone. Our goal is to prove whether or not fraud, whether it was or not wrong labelling of minced meat, and if you have used different kind of flesh, processing of meat minced, or not "supports Vladimir Mănăstireanu.
Health inspectors from the Bucharest withdrew yesterday from the market 200 kilos of minced meat, which is still doing analysis.
The results are expected at the end of next week, when it should be released and those concerning the existence of aflatoxine in milk.
The meat which is currently under consideration is part of a batch of nearly 2,000 pots with small products in Ploiesti and distributed in 36 counties.
It's about a quantity of more than 1.5 tons of which 200 kilograms were found at a supermarket in Bucharest.
The company administrator's wife, who produced small suspects has a leadership position within the Directorate for Health and Food Safety, and its subordinates are the ones that make the companies like the one run by her husband.
Chief DSVSA, Michael Terecoasă, said that, as a result of the alert, the woman was put in an execution position of the same office , which has responsibility for checking the non-food products.
