Suspension of President Iohannis under scrutiny by Parliament's leadership

The Standing Bureaus of the two chambers of Parliament could meet on Monday to consider the request to suspend President Klaus Iohannis from office.
The opposition has re-submitted the request and the necessary signatures, while representatives of the ruling coalition believe the request is meaningless and that it is just a political game.
The President of the Senate, interim leader of the National Liberal Party, Ilie Bolojan, said that if the suspension referendum were to pass, elections would have to be organized after the date already set by the government, 4 May - the first round and 18 May - the second round.
Moreover, he explained, the referendum would be organized during the presidential campaign.
