Thousands of students took to the street on Wednesday in the Romanian capital Bucharest and other cities across the country, RADIO ROMANIA reported.
Their protests are aimed at drawing government attention to the country's education system which is suffering from poor funds.
Protesters believe that the country's education should get some 6 percent of the GDP which would allow scholarships as well as campus and canteen improvements.
Students in Bucharest rallied at the University Plaza while further protests were expected before government headquarters at Victoria Palace.
