Romanian Ministry of Health has initiated an anti-corruption strategy targeting removing bribes in hospitals.
Ministry of Health has already started to send "undercover patients" to hospitals, in order to identify medical and auxiliary staff who require bribes for medical assistance. There already have been un-announced controls from the Ministry, following information on concrete cases in this respect, coming both from doctors and auxiliary staff, but especially from the latter category.
This move is part of an anti-corruption strategy that the Ministry of Health intends to apply by 2020, as Health Minister Sorina Pintea said on Tuesday.
