Liberal Democratic Party leadership has met on Monday.
Among other things, they discussed the possible exclusion of some PDL members.
It's about Cristian Preda, Teodor Baconschi and Theodor Paleologu.
The motion came from vice president, Alin Popoviciu, who believes that the statements of the three from the last period seriously affected the party's image.
PDL leader, Vasile Blaga, said, however, that the meeting was not based on the exclusion idea.
Things were not cut within PDL, because opinions differ and the cases of those proposed for exclusion also vary.
For example, PDL spokesman, Adriana Săftoiu, says that Paleologu’s exclusion would be an absurdity, but she claims that the statements made by Cristian Preda and Teodor Baconschi are denigrating the party.
Former President, Emil Boc, or PDL Sibiu leader, Ion Ariton, say that it’s not the time now for exclusions and that it's time now for PDL to close ranks, not to break them.
According to Ion Ariton, the exclusion for alleged crimes of opinion would have deadly effects for PDL during this period.
On Friday, the leader of the party, Vasile Blaga, recognized that there really discontents, but the discussion of the permanent office will not start from the idea of exclusion.
"There is no list of exclusions. I can understand that some colleagues are angry and I will say that I, too, have my sorrows. Meanwhile, I see fellow who, instead of fighting with USL, they are constantly attacking the party, ironically, using the same rhetoric as USL", said Vasile Blaga.
Among those proposed for exclusion by Vice president of PDL, Alin Popoviciu, was also the former education minister, Daniel Funeriu, but he has already given his resignation at the middle of last week.
On this background, there are voices in PDL trying to point out that Democratic liberals should not follow the example of NLP.
Meanwhile, Liberal Democrat Theodor Baconschi announced his resignation from PDL in a letter sent last night to President PDL, Vasile Blaga.
According to Agerpress, Baconschi accuses leader Vasile Blaga that through messages sent through the press put him in an unacceptable situation, which leads him to assert that he leaves PDL without any resentment.
