RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - Termoenergetica representatives claim that starting next week, all Bucharest residents will have hot water.
The network is currently operating at 85 percent capacity, due to some repair work, but also the fact that no major investments have been made in the primary pipeline network.
Starting next week, CET Sud will resume operation, stopped in July for revisions, but the lack of investments will affect the supply of Bucharest residents with heating agent, especially during winter.
Claudiu Cretu, the director of Termoenergetica, says that he is waiting to receive the town hall debt for the subsidy to pay the arrears to Elcen, after which the company will be able to attract funds in a few months.
Claudiu Cretu: "We are repairing with all the resources we have, but a problem-free winter is not possible in Bucharest - and I can say this for several years to come because until we consistently replace a large part of the 1000 km primary network, we can not talk about a winter without breakdowns. Accessing European funds obviously also depends on financial health. We hope that in a few months this complicated situation from a financial perspective will be resolved, we have promises from the mayor's office in this regard and once these debts are resolved we will be able to propose projects to be financed from European funds."
