The first school week is almost over, but most schools have open positions.
To cover the deficit of teachers, some schools should organize competitions.
According to information received from the correspondents of Radio Romania, there are hundreds of open positions at the moment, but the number could be much higher, while the ministry of education has not yet centralized the data.
In Alba, in Bacau, Bistrita Nasaud, Galati, Olt and Vaslui, many students started the school year without teachers.
According to the Ministry of Education, school boards are empowered to organize competitions in these cases.
Until Friday, inspectorates should receive information from directors, and a list of vacancies will be published.
General Inspector of Olt County, Felicia Man, says that in the county over 50 departments were occupied.
"The director issued a decision to grant those hours either with an hourly payment or to the retirees or teachers, who didn’t take part in the competition or received a grade less than 5”, says Felicia Man.
In some cases, solutions were found.
General Inspector Laura Hacman said that in Suceava the open positions were occupied, because many teachers who were on a waiting list took hours to certain specialties, both partial and complete departments.
The idea of participating again in competitions dissatisfies many of the teachers.
At these competitions can participate even people who are not part of the system.
The inspectorates give assurances that this thing will not happen, just some technical disciplines may have unqualified personnel.
Vacancies that are in the contest have a fixed-term period; the contracts are concluded only for this school year.
