The reorganization of central public institutions and state-owned companies in order to cut budget spending is dissatisfying more and more employees.
Several ministries have already announced reorganizations and staff cuts.
Parliament's leadership also announced on Wednesday that it would cut about 400 civil servant posts, prompting a spontaneous protest by employees.
Nearly 180 of the Senate's 800 or so civil servant posts will be cut.
The car fleet and fuel quota will be cut by 20%, some directorates will be reorganized and the legislative process will be improved by implementing measures from the European Parliament.
The announcement came from the president of the upper chamber, Liberal Ilie Bolojan, who assures that the process will be fair and transparent in order to work more efficiently and at less cost.
In the Chamber of Deputies, too, more than 200 of the 1.100 or so posts will be cut, says chamber president Ciprian Serban, a Social Democrat.
Energy efficiency is also being taken into account, including reducing lighting in the parliament building, both inside and outside.
Several trade union federations have voiced their support for the Parliament's employees and consider the announced reorganization measures to lack transparency and fairness.
The announcements of reorganizations of central public institutions and state-owned companies come at a time when the government is trying to reduce the budget deficit, including public spending.
Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu will continue talks with his cabinet ministers in the coming period to establish options for reducing public sector spending.
