The social democrats believe that special pensions are "priority one", PSD president Marcel Ciolacu said on Monday, January 30, emphasizing that together with the Ministry of Justice, "the constitutional form for this chapter to be closed" must be found in Romania.
According to Agerpres, Marcel Ciolacu made the statement in a press conference organized after the meeting of the PSD National Council and the meeting of the parliamentary groups of the Social Democrats.
"I had two days of meetings together with my colleagues, we had a working group to continue drafting our governing program. Then, we had a National Political Council, where each PSD minister presented what he had accomplished from the governing program assumed in the coalition and what follows in the next period. I also had a presentation with Mr. Jianu, as a social partner.(...) I detailed the priorities both from a governmental and legislative point of view, and here I mean, first of all, the milestones in the NRRP. From our point of view, the first priority is special pensions and we are waiting, together with the Ministry of Justice, to find the constitutional form so that this chapter with special pensions is closed, once and for all, in Romania", said Marcel Ciolacu.
