Snow, blizzard in Romania
ANM: By the end of the week, weather will be cold and locally freezing cold during the night.

Twenty-two national roads have been closed and 35 trains halted on Thursday in Romania, following snowfall and blizzard in 18 counties, most of them in the south-eastern part of the country. Schools have been closed also. Lots of buildings and parked cars have been damaged because of strong wind. There were no cancelled flights at the Henri Coandă Airport, only delayed flights.
Most affected areas: A2 highway, linking Bucharest to Constanța, on the Romanian Black Sea coast, DN 71 Sinaia – Moroieni, DN24 D Galați-Bârlad, DN 3 Călărași - Lehliu –Fundulea, DN3A Fetești – Lehliu, DN 31 Oltenița – Călărași, DN 21 Călărași – Slobozia and DN 3B Călărași- Borcea.
In Bucharest, blizzard caused more than 100 trees to fall down over roads and cars, while 4 billboards and 29 construction elements also fell down, the Bucharest-Ilfov Emergency Inspectorate announced. Two traffic lights poles fell down and a total of 19 interventions took place in Ilfov county, in places where trees or poles had fallen down.
“By the end of the week, in most regions in the country, the weather will be cold and locally freezing cold during the night”, National Meteorological Administration (ANM) mentioned.
