Simona Halep says she feels "mentally stronger" for the "big challenge" of playing Saturday against Serena Williams in the Wimbledon final, according to the BBC.
In the semifinals, Simona Halep defeated Ukrainian player Elina Svitolina with 6-1, 6-3, thus qualifying in her first final at the All England Club.
Romanian tennis player has only one victory in her 10 meetings with Williams (US), at the Singapore Championship tournament in 2014.
"I will believe that I have my chance to defeat her. Of course, I respect what she has done and what she is doing. But now I feel mentally stronger to face her. We'll see what's going to happen. It is a great challenge for me. I now have more experience, I'm positive on court and I am not giving up anymore. I have learned a lot in five years".
For Simona Halep, is the fifth Grand Slam final in her career, after the 2018 Australian Open, and 2014, 2017, 2018 Roland Garros.
