20 bloggers in Bucharest, Timişoara, Cluj, Hunedoara and Baia Mare were invited this weekend to Sibiu, for an innovating project to promote tourism in the former European cultural capital through blogosphere.
This initiative belongs to the Association for the Enrichment of Sibiu (AIOS ) that offers to some of the most popular bloggers in Romania a city-break for 3 days (8-10 July), to discover or rediscover the beauty and history of Transylvania"s bourg.
"Along with bloggers in Sibiu, the 20 guests will spend a whole day on the narrow streets of Sibiu, through passages that breath the romance of the past ages, and under the careful guidance of historiographer Răzvan Pop, who received the difficult task of revealing the beauties of Sibiu.
"The City Tour begins on Saturday morning, in the Dragon Square, at the crossing between 9 May Street, Ocna Street and Făurului Street, which is the first core of the city, the place where Sibiu was born.
"The Route passes through the city's most important points, Large Square, Schiller Square, Huet Square, but also through less known places, as the Josefin Neighbourhood or through the streets of the Oraşul de Jos (the Lower City) which did not know the sweet taste of advertising", was said in a press release sent by the organisers.
They hope for the guests to return home with the bag full of interesting stories and share their impressions on their blogs.
This unique project to promote tourism, named "Walking around my Sibiu", will be available on Twitter via #prinSibiulmeu, and the reviews will be posted on the participant blogs.
The project is organised by the Association for the Enrichment of Sibiu and funded by the Local County of Sibiu trough Sibiu City Hall and House of Culture of the Municipality Sibiu.
