According to Elena Udrea, the Minister of Regional Development and Tourism, hostel (s) or hotel (s) owners will be allowed to classify their businesses by themselves, on their own responsibility.
Owners will be allowed to fill in a standard statement in order to require classification certificates, tourism licenses and patents.
The statement provides that the travel agent must fulfill all the conditions stated by the law in order to receive the required certificates within thirty days.
The Minister responsible, Elena Udrea, explained that the advantages of such measures consist in cutting back the deadline for getting the documents, in improving the efficiency of the system and implicitly in cutting down the number of the Ministry’s employees that have different tasks in the classification process.
In addition, travel agents ‘will start respecting the tax system which will mitigate the undeclared work’.
On the other hand, Elena Udrea asserted that the Ministry would do regular surveys in order to check if statements corresponded to reality and depending on her observations during fieldwork she would take the required measures.
