Security of the Black Sea to the attention of US Congressmen

Romanian Defense Minister Mihai Fifor has had a meeting with Steve Russell and Matt Cartwright, members of the US Congress visiting Bucharest.

The Minister discussed with the two Congressmen about security in the Black Sea region and about the development of Romanian-US Strategic Partnership, in the field of Defense.

Mihai Fifor appreciated the excellent level of collaboration between the Romanian and the US Armed Forces, underlining that the US military presence in the Eastern part of the Alliance, and especially on the Romanian territory, represents a real commitment of the Washington Government to ensure Europe's security and stability.

The meeting was also attended by the Head of the Romanian Army General Staff, Gen. Nicolae Ciucă, and the American Ambassador to Bucharest, Hans Klemm, the Romanian Ministry of National Defense announced.
