Daimler Group has inaugurated, on Thursday, February 7th, the production line of new eight-speed gearbox for Mercedes-Benz cars at subsidiary Star Assembly in Sebeş, Romania.
For the production of the new eight-speed automatic gearbox, the German Group has built two new halls in Sebeș with an area of approximately 54,000 square meters. Also new jobs will be created.
"Thank you for being here today! We will create 500 new jobs, we need other people to join our team", said Klaus Eichhorn, CEO of the company.
New dual-clutch automatic transmission, 8G-DCT, was first introduced in conjunction with the diesel engines that fit the new B-Class, which will be delivered to customers starting February 2019.
