Sebastian Burduja: Romanians pay the 4th cheapest gas in the EU

Romanians pay the 4th cheapest gas and the 5th cheapest electricity of all EU member states, says the minister in charge, Sebastian Burduja, citing new Eurostat data.
He says, on a social network, that this official European information contradicts the claims made by representatives of sovereignist parties, which he described as lies.
Sebastian Burduja says that the decision to cap energy prices has allowed keeping costs under control for millions of Romanians, and the government's objective is still to protect Romanian households and companies by keeping bills as low as possible, at a time when production capacity of over 7000 Megawatts, equivalent to 10 nuclear reactors at Cernavoda, has been closed in recent decades, the energy minister adds.
