Romania will hand over to the European Commission, by August 1, the report certifying the fulfillment of the objectives for the year 2020 in terms of renewable energy and energy efficiency, says the Minister of Energy, Sebastian Burduja.
The clarification comes after, at the end of last week, the European Commission issued reasoned notices to Romania, Hungary and Croatia for non-compliance with reporting obligations.
The Ministry of Energy is now working on answers, but there is also a need for a series of data that must be provided by other ministries and authorities, Sebastian Burduja explained, in Cernavoda.
Sebastian Burduja: We also proposed within the Integrated National Plan in the field of Energy and Climate Change, to report by the end of July, sometime in August to send the new plan, because there we had a deadline of June 30, deadline for updating this plan. We depend on data and input from other ministries. It is very important what Romania undertakes at the level of the INPECC, because we will have to deliver those targets, taking into account that, for example, the projects that we propose for financing through the Modernization Fund must be convergent with the targets which we undertake in INPECC.
