Salary increases in education were adopted in the government meeting on Thursday by emergency ordinance.
It is an increase of almost 20% on average, which will be allocated in two installments - from January 1, respectively from June 1, 2024. Approximately 350.000 people in the system will benefit from this measure.
Starting next year, salaries in university education will increase between 15% and 21%.
Also, principals and deputy principals of schools will receive salaries more than 36% higher than they will be this month.
The salary increase in pre-university education will be on average 20%, announced the relevant minister, Ligia Deca.
Ligia Deca: For teachers in pre-university education, the increases are between 19.4% and 20.5%, the total average gross salary increase in 2024 being almost 20%, of which we will have an average gross increase of approximately 13% in January. For starters with long-term higher education, the total average gross increase in the year 2024 is 19.4%, of which 12.6% in January.
Reporter: Also in Thursday's meeting, the government eliminated salary inequities for the officials in the territory from the pension houses, the employment agencies, ANPIS, who will be at the salary level from the central institutions. The same thing will happen to the employees of DSP, APIA, INA and from the county directorates of culture, but the allowances for dignitaries in the central administration will remain frozen next year as well.
The executive has also extended the cap on RCA policies for another six months to prevent significant price increases that will have a major impact on the economy.
