Russia's ambassador to Bucharest, Valery Kuzmin, was summoned to the Romanian Foreign Ministry to give explanations about an article on the Russian embassy's website entitled "About NATO barking at Russia's borders and the world's main source of misinformation" but also about other positions of the Embassy.
Thus, the Russian ambassador had a meeting with the Secretary of State for Strategic Affairs Iulian Fota, who pointed out that the Russian mission's repeated use of inappropriate, offensive and provocative language against Romania and NATO is unacceptable.
The Russian ambassador was also reminded that last month the MFA sent a verbal note expressing its disagreement, in writing, in the strongest terms, regarding the statements posted on the website of the Russian diplomatic mission on the war in Ukraine, and drew attention to the dehumanizing and unrealistic way of describing the war in Ukraine, for which the Russian side has full responsibility.
Secretary of State Iulian Fota once again warned the Russian side that this conduct of public communication reflects a non-constructive approach to bilateral relations by the Embassy and called for public messages to be kept within the limits set by the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, reported the RRA editor, Carmen Gavrila.
