Romanian Government is setting, this week, the rules of procedure for November presidential elections, involving information related vote inside the country and abroad, as well as calendar of elections for the President of Romania.

RRA Reporter Alina Bordeiaşu: Electoral period for the presidential elections starts on Wednesday, August 28. This week, the five judges of Central Electoral Bureau are to be appointed, one of them to be elected CEB President. Later on, National Audiovisual Council will establish the rules for conducting the presidential election campaign for mass-media.
According to Government decision, deadline for applying for presidential elections is September 22, and the actual election campaign will begin on October 12.
Romanian citizens from abroad can register, by correspondence, on www.votstrainatate.ro portal until September 11th. The diaspora will be able to vote starting three days in advance: for the first round between 8 and 10 November, and for the second round between 22 and 24 November.
Both in Romania and abroad, polling stations will open at 7:00 and close at 21:00.
If at the closing time in the polling stations or outside the polling stations there will still be voters, program will be extended until 23:59.
