Radio Romania News and Radio Romania Radiophonic Theater prepare an Anniversary Sitcom, a unique production about the beginnings of Radio Romania's radiophonic theater broadcastings, that listeners will be able to hear starting this autumn, on Radio Romania News (Radio România Actualităţi, RRA).
For the 90th anniversary since Radio Romania has been broadcasting - which will be celebrated on November 1 - Radiophonic Theater and Radio Romania News (RRA) are committed to keep up with the challenges of the present and the future and prepare a new project: a radio sitcom about the beginnings of Radio Romania's radiophonic theater broadcastings. Story begins in 1928, at a time when new means of artistic expression, such as cinema and radio, were being discovered.
Radio Romania Anniversary Sitcom will have 11 episodes and will be broadcast starting this autumn, every weekend, at Radio Romania News, Ilinca Stihi, Director of the sitcom, spoke exclusively at the "Night Service" show with RRA Producer Maria Țoghină about this unique radiophonic market project.
On February 18, 2019, there will 90 years of radiophonic theater, 90 years when generations of Romanians stepped into an imaginary showroom for the first time, listening to theater plays presented at the microphone.
Now, Radio Romania Radiophonic Theater adapts to new technologies and uses binaural sound technology, which gives the listener the ability to have a 3 D audition in the headphones.
Also, Director Ilinca Stihi has begun to experiment the 3 D sound technology. It's about listening to a radio theater play in a room equipped with a sound box placed in a spherical structure where the audience is in the middle of the scene.
Radio Romania has organized, on 4-9 June, the 6th edition of the Grand Prix Nova International Radio Theater Festival, dedicated to innovation in radio production. This edition has gathered 57 radio theater productions from 23 countries.
