Romanians have started to save electricity amid rising kilowatt prices per hour.
According to data from the National Institute of Statistics, published on Thursday, the population's electricity consumption fell by more than 6% in the first five months of the year. Savings were made in the industry also and consumption decreased, but less, by only 3.5%.
At the same time, the production of electricity from renewable sources has increased to more than four billion kW/h.
Wind power was higher compared to the same period last year, with almost 700 million kW/h, and that produced by photovoltaic panels with over 76 million kW/h.
