Romanian Social Democratic Party (SDP) is reorganizing its leadership structure this week, after its failure in the European Elections, but also after incarceration of party leader, Liviu Dragnea.
There are delicate issues in the discussion that go beyond simply replacing the SDP President, where only Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă is a candidate so far. Party must also be positioned in the perspective of the presidential elections, and opinions of Bucharest leadership and of influential subsidiaries do not converge in all directions.
Social Democratic Congress is scheduled to be held on Saturday.
Political program through which Social Democrats want a greater rapprochement towards citizens and reconciliation with Romanians in the diaspora is also to be approved.
