The Romanian Post Office launched the first digital mailboxes. They offer the possibility for recipients to pick up their packages at any time, without having to interact with post office employees.
Customers who have to pick up a package will be notified by SMS or e-mail. In addition, the recipients can make the payment directly at the integrated POS of the digital box, which is also equipped with a touch screen that offers an intuitive interaction with the user.
In total, the Romanian Post Office will have 3.000 such lockers, which would be installed in the next period throughout the national territory, according to a press release.
The first two digital boxes are already operating at post office 66 on Constantin Titel Petrescu street in the capital, and in the town of Buftea in Ilfov county, at the local post office.
