Romanian Minister of National Defense at B9 meeting in Warsaw

Romanian Minister of National Defense, Gabriel Leş, participates on Thursday and Friday at a meeting in Warsaw of Defense Ministers from B9 Initiative Member States.
Meeting of Ministers of Defense from B9 Initiative Member States (Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary) – co-organized by Defense Ministries of Poland and Romania – is also attended by NATO officials and representatives of US Department of Defense.
Meeting represents an opportunity for discussing current issues on NATO and EU Agenda from the perspective of Alliance's anniversary summit and Romania's holding the rotating Presidency of the EU Council. Talks will focus on the need to continue efforts to strengthen NATO deterrence and defense, with priority on the eastern flank, reads a press release from Romanian Ministry of National Defense.
Main topics on the agenda will be B9 contribution to NATO 360-degree approach to deterrence and collective defense, B9 support for implementation of EU's Global Foreign and Security Policy Strategy, and B9-US cooperation.
Last year, meeting of Defense Ministers from countries participating in the Bucharest 9 (B9) Initiative took place in Bucharest.
