Romanian Minister of Defense, Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă, has welcomed, today, at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense, Canada's Ambassador to Romania, Kevin Hamilton.
Meeting has been a good opportunity to discuss the stage of Romanian-Canadian cooperation in the field of defense and prospects for collaboration in bilateral format and within NATO or the United Nations
Romanian Minister of Defense has thanked the Canadian Ambassador for his country's substantial and constant contribution to consolidate the Allied Eastern flank, praising Canada's participation in consolidated air police missions on Romanian territory in recent years.
Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă has also emphasized the special importance of the transatlantic relationship for the security of Europe, given the current security challenges in the Black Sea region, as states a press release from the Romanian Ministry of Defense (MApN).
"Romanian-Canadian cooperation within the UN, through Romania's contribution to the MINUSMA mission in Mali, shows that the rhythm of the bilateral partnerships and the political-military dialogue are excellent and we will continue on this road together", concluded the Romanian Defense Minister.
