Romanian journalist Cristina Țopescu – daughter of well-known sports commentator Cristian Țopescu - died at the age of 59. She was found dead at her house on Sunday, by policemen from the Ilfov Police Inspectorate, who received a phone call from a neighbor saying that the journalist has not been seen for about three weeks.
Police said there were no visible traces of violence. A forensic expertise is to take place.
Cristina Țopescu attended the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Bucharest University, English-Italian section. She started writing for Cinema magazine, and, since 1991, she has joined the editorial staff of the Romanian Television. She then worked as a news-anchor for Prima TV and Antena 3. At the end of last year, she was appointed Counselor of the Minister of Health, Rador reports.
