Romanian government ministers were validated in office by Nicolae Ciuca

Seven months after taking office, all ministers in the Romanian government have been validated by the chief executive, Nicolae Ciuca. After an evaluation based on ten objective criteria, but "related to the expectations of the Romanian citizen and society", Prime Minister Ciuca presented, today, a balance of the PNL-PSD-UDMR government in which certain things are mentioned chronologically: overcoming the health crisis, stabilizing the energy crisis and managing and bringing under control the effects of the war in Ukraine.
It is the largest investment budget in 32 years, for the new offshore law and the strengthening of security within NATO and the European Union.
Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca discussed with President Klaus Iohannis the results of the ministers' evaluation and, according to some political sources, the prime minister considered that no reshuffles were needed.
Nicolae Ciuca conveyed, however, to the members of his cabinet that they will no longer be allowed to hand in late the projects that constitute milestones in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca stated, in a press release, that the evaluation of the ministers was made on the basis of ten objective criteria, and the stability of the team of ministers offers the guarantee that the executive will continue the modernization process of Romania. Political sources have announced some changes that will be made to the Fiscal Code.
Thus, gambling winnings of up to 3.000 lei would be taxed at 10%, those between 3.000 and 10.000 lei by 20%, and those over 10.000 lei by 40 percent. Political sources also stated that another measure refers to VAT of 5% only for homes purchased with a maximum value of 600.000 lei and an area of no more than 120 square meters.
Also, the calculation of the housing tax will be changed, which will be done according to the notarial grid and not the place where the house is located and the materials from which it is built, as it is now.
In this way, the tax in big cities could increase by 60%. At the same time, in HoReCa the specific tax changes so that from next year it will not be less than 1% of the turnover.
Also, the political sources also mentioned that the prime minister Nicolae Ciuca and the liberals did not oppose in the discussions of the coalition the over-taxation of special pensions, but the prime minister asked that in this case a legal solution must come.
